Character name: Hope Estheim Fandom: Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2 City life: That depends, actually. I'm still waffling on his canon point-- if I take him from XIII, he'd be a teenager who needs to finish middle/junior high school. If I take him from the latter game, he'll be ten years older and be part of the Diamond City Institute of Scientific Studies as a researcher or something. Powers: Again, dependent on his canon point. The younger Hope will have powers similar to Snow's (I know you have him 8}) but he excels in the magic-casting aspect, but the older Hope will have none because he lost them at the end of XIII due to PLOT and semi-happy endings.
For XIII Hope, I'm chopping out the three roles he's not an expert in (Sentinel, Commando, Saboteur) to leave behind what he's good at (Ravager, Medic, Synergist)-- however I'm thinking of removing Synergist as well because it's just a role for a buffer, and that may not be needed so much in the game. Unfortunately I cant narrow his specialty to just one element, because he's best at all of them, being the most powerful mage of the game.
As for XIII-2 Hope... you think there's a chance to regain some of that magic he lost? Do you think they'll be active? He will be, whether as a teen or as an adult. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Yep! He's a naturally curious person, and he'd want to get to the bottom of things. Why this character interests you here: Hope's always been one of my best characters, but I've always played him in simple jamjars, and I find the concept of this game very interesting. Potential concerns: As you can tell, my immediate concern is his canon point. Kid? Adult? I'm used to playing the younger version, since I've had him as a character for over a year, but I want to try new things. The older one is new, considering his canon came out in February, which would be a fun challenge for me, but at the same time, I'm leery of spoiling anyone. I can make up his City background easily once I make that decision :|a
Character name: Terra Fandom: Kingdom Hearts City life: Most likely part of the Guard Force, because he's always been kind of a protector. Powers: Oh boy. This is the heart of my problem with him. He has a giant magic key-thing called a Keyblade which is basically a reflection of his ~*heart*~ and it's haxx. It turns into a motorbike, can act as a blunt weapon and take out hearts (figuratively) from people. Then he has a wide array of magic available to him. I'm thinking of just leaving him with the Keyblade because it's a part of him, but I don't know how that will translate to the game. Do you think they'll be active? Yep. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Oh, very much so. Why this character interests you here: I'm considering this my return to playing Terra after over a year, and I decided that maybe a wrold-rebuilding setting could do well, because he has baggage from seeing his own home world destroyed before his eyes. He could translate that over here and do his best to help. Potential concerns: He'd insist on his dream world for a while. Aside from that, he has little to no real-world experience due to living like a hermit on his world, so adjusting would take a while.
Character name: Fuuma Monou aka Kamui Fandom: X/1999 City life: He'd be able to finish high school, but he left before finishing junior year, and that was voluntary. No one would hire a 17-year-old though, so most likely I'd force him back into school. Powers: In canon, he's one of the two most powerful people/psychics in the world, and I need to suppress his abilities a whole lot. Psychokinesis, breaking and entering of psychic barriers, dreamwalking, and a kind of empathy that lets him tell what a person's wish is. I'd remove all of them except psychokinesis-- an umbrella term I use for very powerful forms of telekinesis (including pryo-, cryo-, etc.) and enhanced regeneration. Do you think they'll be active? Somewhat. He'll be reluctant at first to do anything in this place, but if all goes well, he'll see that he has no choice but to be active. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Yes. Plots are things he'll see as ways to get info, because he wants to go "home". Why this character interests you here: Kamui's my main muse, and I've played him in a variety of games before. But never have I placed him in a world that insists he's not what he's supposed to be-- it'd be both something new and a challenge for me. Potential concerns: He'd insist heavily on his dream being real and this one being a dream. That would get him a lot of punishments.
I'm looking to app only one character here, because two in a game will be a bit much for me. However, as you guys can tell I like a lot of obscure and complicated canons, so I'm taking the time to ask you whom you'd like to see in this game, and how I can adapt them into the game. Especially powers, because some are just way too much.
oh god what is this wall of text
