Fandom: Homestuck City life: I imagine she would have worked in a bakery of some sort? Making cakes and the like. Powers: Jane has no innate powers, but I'd love for her to gain some small abilities that might be useful to detective work: the ability to recognize lies, for instance, or to "find" objects. Do you think they'll be active? Oh yes. Jane's a bright, social person, probably too much for her own good. Do you think they'll participate in plot? For sure! I think that Jane will be very interested in figuring out what's going on. Why this character interests you here: Jane's been told for some time now that her life is a lie and that she's been mindcontrolled by the batterwitch and I think it would be really interesting for her to wake up in a setting and be confronted with the the fact that hey, maybe they were right. She is also optimistic, plucky, and dreams of being a detective: three traits that I think would make for a super-interesting combination in a setting like this. Potential concerns: First and foremost being, I'm not sure if Jane would be allowed? I know that some games want people to hold off applying for the Alpha kids until they've been in-comic for longer. Secondly, she's pretty young (16)! I'm not sure how much difference this would make, but the setting seems like one that would be more accommodating to older characters.

Character name: Aang
Fandom: Avatar: The Last Airbender City life: I'm not sure, to be honest. Aang is too young to hold a real job, but I can imagine him as helping out/participating in/being a disciple in some sort of church or temple? Powers: Aang already has a good deal of canonical power. I imagine it would be very useful, for a lot of reasons? Do you think they'll be active? Yup! Like Jane, he's a cheerful, social fellow. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Yeah. Why this character interests you here: Aang is, well, a very context-driven character: he's the avatar, he has a mission to accomplish, and I'm interested in how he would react when he's yanked out and placed in an entirely different context, especially grappling with the fact that being the Avatar itself might be a lie. Potential concerns: He's even younger! Which, again, I'm not sure if it's a real thing to worry about or not. I can't think of anything else at the moment, really.
(alternately, I could play a number of other characters from either of these canons, these are just the first two that come to mind, and i'm not particularly committed to either. i'm also wracking my brain for other potential character ideas, so hm. i might try this again in the future.)
