Your name: Snapple! Aka Abby, I am not the most secretive internet person. Character name: The Brucolac Fandom: The Scar by China Mieville City life: A politician or lawyer on track to becoming a judge! Powers: The Brucolac is a VAMPIRE and he has a fairly standard Ooky Vampire set of powers that includes being really fast, flicky tongue super scent senses, healing quickly, sort of hopping between shadows, and being REALLY INTIMIDATING without necessarily really meaning to be. NOT having these powers at first will be kind of a relief / extremely alarming, in that hey it's nice to be able to talk to people, but it is NOT nice to be a weak squishy thing with a heartbeat. I'm open to the end power set being heavily nerfed. I would like for him to appear far younger than he should from the get-go, at least. Do you think they'll be active? YES. Yes. This character is nosy as heck, and is NOT content just sitting around by any means. He is a mover and a shaker. However, he is also heavily adaptive, and is as likely to integrate himself into the current power structure if he thinks it will benefit him as he is to fight against it. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Sure! It may depend on what kind of plots, he'll be conservative until he's confident he's not as squishy as he will initially fear that he is. Why this character interests you here: The Brucolac is always a fun character for me to play: he's sly, sharp and morally grey, and he both embodies and defies the stereotypical vampire overlord villain trope in ways I find fascinating. Also, I enjoy playing him off of Takh's Doul. Potential concerns: Possibly too pushy/meddlesome, I will have to find a good balance with him where he's satisfyingly active without requiring more time than I can devote to him.
Character name: Sirius Black Fandom: Harry Potter, specifically from the Shoebox AU. (Marauder-era) City life: Student! Sirius would not be old enough to have a job. Powers: Lord, Potterverse magic is janky. I'd pick one or two types of "magic" that he can still do, probably transfiguration and enchanting objects. It'd be nice to have some spells but that opens up a big can of worms powers wise. As long as he can make a flying motorbike, I'll be happy. Do you think they'll be active? YES. Sirius is incapable of shutting up, ever. Do you think they'll participate in plot? Yes! He is fiercely and helplessly social, he needs attention. Why this character interests you here: Sirius always interests me, but this is a much darker genre than he hails from, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts. I think a character who is so fiercely, merrily reckless may also be fun in the game? Idk guys, tell me what you think. Potential concerns: Genre clash and overpowered-ness? I'm not sure what the game's stance is on underaged characters (though I could take him from the end of the AU when he's 18)
Character name: F1R3W@LL, or F13 for short Fandom: OC from Changeling: the Lost City life: Computer programmer / hacker Powers: Control over lightening, ability to see & interact with supernatural stuff, ability to sense people's fears. Do you think they'll be active? F13's a bit of a shut in but is big on electronic communication and spreading information. This is someone who's not seen but who is heard. Do you think they'll participate in plot? I'm comfortable shoving my characters into things that I think would be interesting, though unless it involved investigating stuff via the computertubes or obviously ooky supernatural things, F13's natural inclination will be to stay home. Why this character interests you here: I love this character. F13 is snarky and delightful to play, the sort of person who can't help but be helpful, even while ragging on everyone. Also, Changeling: the Lost is basically fairytale PTSD: the game, and its characters already experienced physical warping and identity theft. I think it would be a lot of fun to see what a Changeling would do if they woke up Lost all over again. Potential concerns: So F13 spent their time with the horrible fey god creature as an actual computer churning data in a metropolis-like nightmare city. Their original human body (and the human body most people will see) is physically female but looks like an androgynously skinny youth. F13's true form / mental image of is a completely genderless computer with wire limbs dressed in sweats and a hoodie, and that's how they'll look to anyone with True Sight. F13 tends to let people assume that they're male and just generally won't correct pronoun usage because they haven't figured out a pronoun preference. So in general there might be some gender identity triggery stuff. The character is absolutely not going to become a platform from which I talk about this issue (F13 is certainly going to avoid making it a Thing, ICly) it's just worth mentioning because it is part of the character's story.
