Like exactly what kinds of AUs are allowed to exist in conjunction with each other, and if there are any limits on how out there an AU can be, for example a variant on canon events vs. an all out crazy the-characters-are-actually-alien wizards!! type thing.

Also, given the particular nature of the Mass Effect games, would apping in another Shepard count as an AU character?
