How to

While the worldbuilding post is an excellent place to try and figure out City history CR, this page is more to help you to decide who you should apply for in the first place. Give us a good idea of what kind of character you're thinking of and let others comment in on how they might see it working! Think of it as a thought experiment for yourself and other players. As a reminder, this is completely optional. You are totally free to reserve or apply someone without commenting to this post first. ♢ Reception to your idea will have no effect on how the mods process your app. This is only a tool to help you decide who to put the effort into. ♢ Don't spam or flame any potential character comments. While just going "OMG YES!!" can be encouraging, it doesn't really give anyone a whole lot to work with, and neither does shooting someone down. Be constructive. ♢ Give your honest opinion. If you think a character really wouldn't fit in the setting, express your concerns. Maybe the potential applicant didn't think of it from a certain point of view. Paired with the above, please don't just go "I don't think this will work". Provide some reasoning! ♢ Don't take anything personal. hi!! um, I can't answer all of these questions because I am super not a mod, but regarding the City life aspect, being a student is totally kosher. this lady's City bio has her as a recent high school grad, as well as a couple of other characters floating around the game. also, if he's a university student there are like twelve three different options for schools: Diamond City Institute of Scientific Studies, Diamond College of Social Sciences, & Diamond City Community Educators. also, you can come up with locations in the context of the City and the extended world, which the worldbuilding post can be helpful for. for example, I came up one or two things for each of my characters.

as far as lone canon warrior syndrome - we have a lot of canons represented by a single character, or two characters, and I think people are pretty good at branching out from their canon. we also have monthly plotting posts and plenty of open logs!

It's okay. I'm super not informed and all these links are really helpful. It's also giving me a lot of ideas. Thank You :D Especially the world expansion page in actually getting to add locations for the settings? Wow, that's awesome!

Actually the open logs is really a relief. I haven't been in a prose area in a while, but most of the threads were closed in those communities because they were set up for plot related reasons or something so that's nice to hea. The monthly plotting posts too, I'm pretty terrible at setting up logs otherwise.
